hi. i'm kept.
An assistant like the ones you already use, with one difference: it runs on your iPhone. Ask it anything — it's answered on the phone. Trips, restaurant tables and research go to a private worker without your name.
what can you do?
Answer questions and explain things. Check the weather, find places, translate. Read and add to your calendar, set reminders, alarms and timers, look up a contact, read your Health numbers — each one only after you allow it, and any of them can be turned off again in iOS Settings.
Research a topic and show you the sources. Plan a trip: hotels, flights, a table, and the rides in between.
what's the weather?
Answered here, on your phone, by Apple's on-device model. Nothing about you is sent anywhere to do it.

This is the part a phone can't do alone, so it goes out — stripped. A private worker searches for hotels, fares and tables using the trip, not you: a city, dates, a party size, airport codes, a price ceiling. Your name and your contacts are removed before anything leaves, and the worker has no account and no idea which phone is asking.

hotels, flights, a table for two
working on it in the background — you'll get a notification
When it's done you get the options and a button to finish in the airline's own app, Expedia, Resy or OpenTable. Kept books nothing itself, so your card and your name go to the provider, from you, and never through us.
so what actually leaves the phone?
Only the search, and only when you ask for something that needs one.
One search request
Goes
- a city and dates
- airport codes
- party size, cuisine, a time
- a price ceiling
Never goes
- your name or contacts
- an account or email
- anything naming your phone
- your thread or your context
Each kind of search has a fixed list of fields it may contain; anything else is refused on the phone before it is sent. The result comes back encrypted with a key that was made on your phone and never left it. The privacy page goes through this properly.
what do you know about me?
Whatever you've told it, plus what it has worked out from the phone you already carry — your home airport, the places you go back to, who you see, how you like to travel. All of it sits in Context, in plain words, each fact next to the evidence for it. Read it, correct it, delete it, or decide fact by fact whether it may ever ride along on a search. It stays on the device, and in your own iCloud if you want a second device to start warm.
what can't you do?
It can't read documents or photos, do OCR, or write you a long paper. It can't read your Mail, Messages, Safari or Wallet — iOS doesn't hand those to apps, and Kept doesn't ask. It doesn't book, buy or pay for anything. And like every assistant built on a language model, it can be confidently wrong; check anything that matters before you act on it.
do i need an account?
Sign in with Apple, once. There's no password, no profile on a server of ours, and nothing to make up. Kept shows no ads, sells nothing, and trains no models on you.
